Binance signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Georgian Agency for Innovation and Technology (GITA).
The agreement will see collaboration with “large scale” educational and community blockchain initiatives, including help with developing Georgia’s cryptocurrency industry.
Binance Regional Director Vladimir Smerkis said the people of Georgia had demonstrated a sustained interest in cryptocurrency. Further, he added that the country is among the leaders in most forward-thinking in the Caucasus region.
“For a long time, we have seen a huge interest in the cryptocurrency market and in particular, crypto education in Georgia. I want to separately emphasize that Georgia is one of the most innovation-driven countries in the region.”
GITA Chairman Avtandil Kasradze highlighted that the arrangement would see Binance implement its own educational and charity initiatives in Georgia. In addition, blockchain workshops and hackathons will take place in “TechParks” to spur new start-up ideas and commercial projects.
TechnoPark and Innovation Centres refer to the eight country-wide hubs that aim to bring innovators together for the purpose of developing ideas into products.
