Adobe Firefly 2 brings vectors to generative AI tools in Creative Cloud suite

At their annual Adobe MAX conference, Adobe unveiled new generative AI models that aim to enhance creative workflows. The models include Firefly Image 2, Firefly Vector, and Firefly Design.

Firefly Image 2 builds on the previous version’s image generation capabilities. Adobe says it provides more creative control and improved image quality while adhering to commercial safety standards. New features include Generative Match for applying specified styles, Photo Settings for photography adjustments, and Prompt Guidance for optimized results.

Firefly Vector is billed as the first generative AI model for vector graphics. Adobe says it streamlines high-quality vector design and illustration. Features include Generative Match for style consistency and editable vector gradients.

Firefly Design generates designs and templates in Adobe Express. The Text to Template feature lets users create custom designs for print, social media, and online ads.

Adobe has partnered with Nvidia to integrate Firefly into the Omniverse platform for 3D design workflows. Leaders from Mattel and other companies have noted the potential for Adobe’s new tools to enhance creative inspiration and productivity.

The virtual Adobe MAX conference ran October 10-12, including keynotes, prototype demos, and discussions with creative professionals about utilizing the new models. Adobe positions these AI advancements as part of its vision to transform digital experiences.
