Carl Cox revealed as first headliner of Sensorium Galaxy’s metaverse VR concert series

The British dance music titan will be bringing his famously high-energy sets to PRISM world, a virtual world dedicated to music and dance within the Sensorium Galaxy digital metaverse, scheduled to launch in the coming months.

Sensorium Galaxy is the brainchild of up-and-coming Swiss startup, Sensorium, promising to deliver entertainment experiences like none other after having signed a collective of chart-topping artists to its extended reality environment, including David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Armin van Buuren and Black Coffee.

Carl Cox’s performance will make the artist the first lifelike human avatar to enter virtual reality, according to Sensorium’s Chief Metaverse Officer, Ivan Nikitin, who is also billing the platform as the “most graphically advanced metaverse event to date”.

The company has been documenting the strenuous process behind the creation of Carl Cox’s photorealistic virtual reality avatar, from the detailed full-body 3D scan of the techno trailblazer to how it’s creating high-fidelity experiences in digital spaces.

But fans won’t have to wait until the summer to enjoy the futuristic beats of the metaverse. Last year, Sensorium launched a metaverse streaming service, including a lineup of AI-driven avatars dishing out 24/7 music sets.

The company is hoping to leverage a unique combination of XR technology, photorealistic visuals and generative AI to attract global users to the metaverse, which will be made available in VR, desktop and via the Sensorium Galaxy mobile app.

Sensorium Galaxy’s ecosystem is powered by the in-platform currency SENSO, which can be used to purchase concert tickets, avatars and add-ons as well as for settling transactions in the company’s recently announced Sensorium Arc.
